Daily Challenge: Whedonesque

Nearly there!!!

Here is the entry for last Wednesday's #dailydoodlers

The theme was “Whedonesque”.

I think this kind of made me discover Joss Whedon as a writer.

So here is the Buffy...

Daily Challenge: Alien

Only a few more to be up to date!!!

Here is the entry for last Friday's #dailydoodlers

The theme was “Alien”.

This one was done during my daily doodle session with my three year old daughter. She directed the colour choice and liked it enough to let me post it.

So here is the blob.

Daily Challenge: Ink

I am still catching up!!!

Here is the entry for last Tuesday's #dailydoodlers

The theme was “Ink”.

I decided to post a study I am working for a tattoo...

It’s not quite NY Ink, Ink Master or even my favourite tattoo artist Tim Hendricks (‏@Saltwatertattoo) but here is a Koi Carp I have been working on.

Daily Challenge: Pencil

I am catching up!!!

Here is the entry for Monday's #dailydoodlers

The theme was “Pencil”.

For me "Pencil" evokes Marvel, DC, Romita, Lee, Quesada, Miller. Every hour spent studying their work. There is still a long way to go...

So for this challenge, I chose to do a version of my favourite X-men characterPiotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin

It's rushed and all wonky but I like the pose and since today's #dailydoodlers  theme is "Ink" I will try to Ink this and correct it hoping to do justice to all my childhood heroes.

Daily Challenge: Irish

I am catching up!!!

Here is the entry for Friday's #dailydoodlers

The theme was “Irish”.

Somehow, the image this theme conjured up was Lucky Charms' Leprechaun. So I went with it.

I did not ink this one as I intend to ink it in Illustrator. Once again, update to follow.

Daily Challenge: Puss In Boots

I am still trying to catch up but I am getting there.

Here is the entry for Thursday's #dailydoodlers

The theme was “Fairy Tales”.

I thought it would be nice to revisit some of my childhood memories and Charles Perrault's Puss in Boots was one of my favourite. Looking for reference I found this Puss in Boots cake this lady did and I loved the shape of it.

So here he is, the life of opulence at the king's court has been good to Puss in Boots.

I will try to colour this one as well. I shall post an update soon.

Daily Challenge: The last book I read

Sometimes technology is a bitch!!!

I lost my hard drive last week and spend the vast majority of my week a) recovering data and resetting my PC and b) getting behind on my daily challenge.

Luckily, I think good things came out of that very frustrating experience.

Please excuse the long diatribe.

Here is my next installment for @danidraws Daily Challenge.

Today's theme is "The last book I read".

I feel slightly ashamed to say that the last book I read was "The walking Dead Compedium 1" but then again it's a great book. I wish I had picked up on it before I actually discovered the show, the book is absolutely amazing. So today a little bit of fan-art and I give you Bicycle Girl

Ink and Pencil on Paper

and a close-up as well.

Daily Challenge: Korra

Here is the entry for yesterday’s #dailydoodlers

The theme was “Korra”. Like a lot of people taking part, I had not heard of Korra (The Legend of Korra)

She seems bad-ass enough for me. I have to admit I had to look up reference images.

But here she is...

I will try to colour this one as I really like the pose. I shall post an update soon.
